About Platform Digest

About Platform Digest

An independent publication that helps solo consultants and coaches choose software in the right order, without buying tools they do not need.

Platform Digest exists to answer one question that most small-business software pages ignore: what do you actually need, and in what order?

If you run a one-person consultancy or coaching practice, you are not a marketing department. You probably need a website that makes you findable, a reliable way for enquiries to reach you, and a simple follow-up routine. Most of the "best tools" lists assume you want a full sales stack. This site assumes you do not.

Why this site exists

Software pages are written by software companies. Each one wants to be your one platform, and feature lists are written to make every product look essential. That leaves a solo business comparing tools against a job it never needed done.

Platform Digest takes the opposite approach: find the smallest setup that fits the work on your desk, compare only the tools that matter for that job, and be honest about total cost and complexity.

Who this is for

  • Solo consultants and coaches establishing a professional online presence
  • Independent service providers who want enquiries and bookings to arrive reliably
  • Anyone running a one-person service business who is not technical and does not want to become so

How the information is chosen

Guidance is based on current official documentation, pricing and policies, and is labelled by evidence: explainer, research-based, or hands-on tested. Prices are shown as "checked on [date]" and may change. No company pays for a better position, and if affiliate links are ever added they will be disclosed clearly.

What you can read now

The site currently publishes category guides and two short email articles. More comparisons, prices and free decision aids will be added gradually, only when they can be done well.

Corrections and contact

Readers and software companies can use the contact page. Commercial contact will not change a published conclusion.
